The incident took place in Mineola around 11:45 p.m., Monday, March 21 at the AM NY Inc.
According to detectives, arriving officers found a broken front window at the business. Emergency service and K-9 units arrived and searched the building where they found Emmanuel Rosario, of Brooklyn, hiding in the ceiling.
Rosario, age 32, was removed from the ceiling and arrested without incident, police said.
A follow-up investigation found that Rosario was also wanted for a burglary at the following businesses:
- Mamma Gina’s Pizza, Mineola.
- BP Gas Station, Mineola.
- Mineola Garden Center
Rosario was charged with:
- Four counts of burglary
- Three counts of criminal mischief second-degree
- Criminal mischief third-degree
- Petit larceny.
He will be arraigned on Wednesday, March 23, in Hempstead.
